These are Japanese stab hand bound notebooks made entirely from single sided papers. These papers are either discarded pamphlets used for promotions and advertisements or rejected prints on one side of the papers. The inner pages are made by folding these single sided papers into half. They are then stitch bound together. The books are clad with up-cycled block printed newspapers as covers.
These are designed and developed for multiple uses.
IMPACT through Design
- We only use discarded, rejected or out-dated pamphlets and single sided papers from printing presses.
- The folding and binding is hand done and consume no unnecessary energy through the process.
- The block printed newspapers covers are completely hand done and consume no excessive and unnecessary forms of energy while printing.
- The newspaper covers are printed in an NGO which employs differently-able people. It creates an opportunity for a livelihood for them.
